ALEX FINY (fee-nee)

HEAD TRAINER

Alex Finy is dedicated to youth development and has been a personal soccer trainer in the Columbus area since 2013. Finy has worked with players of all ages and skill levels, including professionals. He is fully committed to sharing the culture and passion of the beautiful game with kids here in the US.

Finy is currently the Boy’s Technical Director at Ohio Premier Soccer Club. He is also the Head Coach of the U13 and U14 Elite Club National League (ECNL) Boys, as well as the U23 Men’s Ohio Valley Premier League (OVPL). In 2021, he led the U23’s to a regular season conference championship. He has been on the coaching staff at OP since 2017.

Finy has also coached at Ohio Dominican University, where he was the Assistant Men’s Coach for four years. He has helped the program by assisting with training, goalkeeping, strength & conditioning, and recruiting. During his time at ODU, he received a Master of Science in Sport Management.

In addition to serving time at ODU, Finy has also coached with the Columbus Eagles FC of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). Finy has helped at his alma mater, Westerville North High School, serving as the collegiate transition advisor for the soccer programs. He served the Olympic Development Program Ohio South state staff for four years.

Finy played four seasons at Ashland University, winning 3 regular season conference championships and 1 GLIAC conference tournament championship. The Eagles made 3 NCAA DII national tournament appearances. A string of tough injuries led Finy to a career in coaching.

Finy is the Co-founder of 614 Futsal. He holds a United States Soccer Federation National “B” license, a NSCAA level 2 goalkeeping certification, and a La Liga Coaching Methodology Level 2 certification.

Finy is a native of Westerville, Ohio.
